"Art That Sets You Free and Lets You Be"

In the Summer of 1986, I rented a beautiful, open, and airy property in the Old City of Jerusalem, right off of Rothschild Square. It was a very hot Summer, and for those who are unfamiliar with the Old City, everything is built of Jerusalem Stone, saturated with earthy Desert Tans and various shades of Beige. The truth is, I was feeling a little bit starved for other colors. At that time, I was doing an intensive study of Jacob (Yaakov Avinu), Isaac's son in the Holy Torah, and the story of the sticks that Jacob artfully created with various designs on them. He made the sticks with different designs in order to influence the moods and actual reproductive processes of the goats and sheep that he was caring for. The animals emulated Jacob's designs, and this caused them to have offspring with color patterned fur in these specific configurations. This concept intrigued me. With G-d's help and inspiritaion, I was given the great idea to create my own Environmental Sticks. I used bright primary and secondary colors in order to give others and myself the ability to gaze at the sticks, and elevate ourselves to have a more positive outlook and mood.
Hence... The Envirmonmental Sticks were born.
